/dev/haag is a new monthly meetup in The Hague, The Netherlands that aims to bring together coders, hackers, artists, designers, UX specialists and other 'makers' from The Hague and beyond. The meetup should be a place where you can meet friendly people and learn from each other.
Each meetup opens with a short introduction followed by 'BarCamp' style workshops and presentations by the attendees. We'll have a signup sheet at each meetup where you can writeup your discussion or workshop topic, and then everybody can decide for themselves which sessions to attend.
At the end off the day we round things up and head to a local bar from some drinks. Sound like a plan? Just RSVP yes...
For more info please check out our /dev/haag website
Were quite happy to announce that our opening speaker for the feb 25 event will be Peter Paul Koch. If you have ever done Javascript programming you will probably know him from his popular http://quirksmode.org
website. For us he'll be speaking on the future of the mobile web, a topic many of you will probably find useful.
And another speaker has 'signed up'; Niek Kramer will presenting his work on creating generated architecture, printed as 3D models.
Unfortunately residing in Ljubljana at the moment, so I can not make it. Great initiative though!
Thanks, and too bad David. But yeah we'll be here next month too!
The drinks this time round will be in Cafe de Paas (http://foursquare.com/venue/352477
) or, if that's full, de Pakshuit next door (http://foursquare.com/venue/404426
). We'll probably head there from about 17:30-18:00 so feel free to join us there if you can't make it during the afternoon!
/dev/haag starts at 13.00. but if you feel hungry before that. feel free to join us at lunch at nomadz @ 12. You are also welcome to just come at 9 in the morning and use a workspace for free. Of course, we always like cookies (-;
We added Georgios Papadakis to the line-up for tomorrow! He'll be presenting his research on interactive installations, more info here: http://www.steim.org![]()
Sorry for the comment spam - has anyone here hacked on Arduino before? If so I want to chat w/ you. See you tomorrow!
I bet @beervangeer or @profikid did, or now people who did.
If anyone want to do a little talk about Arduino some day, I'd be really happy. I have heard a lot about it, but have no idea how it actually works. :)
That's a great plan Charis. We'll get on that for our March meetup!
Suggestions for people you'd like to hear talk, or topics, are always appreciated b.t.w...
Thanks you all for coming and especially for presenting! I had a great time, again, and i hope you did too. Hope to see lot's of you back next month.
We have two confirmed speakers for the upcoming meetup: Beer van Geer, a young designer who specializes in brain wave controlled installations and software.
And Marise Schot, will speak on Design for Happiness. How to use happiness as a measure in design.
Know someone we should invite or want to talk or give a workshop yourself? Let us know!
